John H. Higgins

John H. Higgins, 75, passed away peacefully Monday June 27, 2022, at Glacier Care Center from natural causes surrounded by his family.

A celebration of life will be held at the Moose Lodge in Cut Bank on Saturday August 13, 2022, at 4pm. John requested this to be a potluck style lunch and get together to visit and reminisce he did not want anything formal.

John was born August 24, 1946, in Cut Bank, Montana to George F. and Marjorie J. (Peterson) Higgins.  He graduated from Cut Bank High School in 1965. John left for the Navy in 1971, where he trained for his boiler license.

John never married but he was Uncle to Jim & Debbie Higgins kids, he enjoyed all holiday and birthday celebrations. Family dinners, camping, fishing trips, and traveling were a few of John’s favorite pastimes. John worked for Mom’s Café in Shelby, 4-Corners Café, while helping his mother with apartments, and retired from Crossroads Correctional Center. He was also a longstanding member of the VFW in Shelby and took great pride in the work they do.

John is survived by his brother, George (Pam) Higgins of Arkansas; sister-in-law, Debbie Higgins; nieces, Toni (Michael) Moore, Nikki Higgins; nephew, David Higgins; grandnieces, Danisha Higgins, Brittney Moore, Crystal Higgins, Brianne Higgins, grandnephews, Tyler Stelling, Mason Higgins, Burton Higgins; and many cousins.

John is preceded in death by his parents, George and Marjorie Higgins; his sister, Mary Higgins; and brother, Jim Higgins.
