Agnes Berdette (Hogan) Sandon

September 27, 1920 — June 17, 2014

Agnes Berdette (Pat) Sandon died June 17, 2014 at Shelby, MT of natural causes.  Pat was born September 27, 1920 at Sedro Woolley, WA to Maurice and Doris (Aymond) Hogan.  Pat graduated from Shelton, WA High School and Olympia Business College.  She worked briefly for Washington State Employment Services, then for 3 years for Union Pacific Railroad as a ticket agent and freight clerk.

She met Lionel Sandon when he was training at Ft. Lewis WA at the start of WWII.  When he returned from 3 years fighting in the south pacific, they married on June 13, 1945 in Olympia, WA.  They made their home in Sunburst, MT where they farmed and ranched.  Pat worked as Clerk of the School Board and Elementary School Secretary in Sunburst for 9 years.

On retiring in 1981 the Sandons moved to Lakeside, MT and wintered in Mesa, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lionel, parents, sisters Kay La Monte, Rose Stanfield, and a brother Bill Hogan.  She is survived by son David (Dina) Sandon, of Sunburst; granddaughter Kira Sandon of Coeur d’Alene, ID; grandsons Kirk (Lesley) Sandon of Spokane Valley, and Kory

(Lindsay) Sandon of Corvallis, MT; and three great grandchildren.  She also is survived by two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vigil service will be 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 22, and the funeral will be 10:30 am on Monday June 23, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Sunburst.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, or to the Child Development Center, 3335 Lt Moss Rd, Missoula, MT 59804, for their work with autism in children.
