Agnes S. (Sveum) Woldtvedt

Agnes S. Woldtvedt, 92

Agnes Sveum Woldtvedt passed away peacefully at the Glacier Care Center, in Cut Bank, MT on November 11, 2014.  She was 92.

Agnes was born on January 13, 1922 in the Hospital in Sweet Grass, MT to Peter and Thora Sveum.  Agnes graduated from North Toole County High School in Sunburst, MT and received her teaching degree from Northern Montana College in Havre, MT.  She taught elementary classes in Turner, Cut Bank, Shelby, and Kalispell.

She married Elton S. Woldtvedt, April 21, 1946.  Together they raised four daughters and one son.  They farmed east of Oilmont, MT from 1946 until they retired in 1981.  Their retirement years were spent traveling the United States by motor home during the winter and spending the summers in Montana with their families.

Agnes enjoyed talking to people and would talk to everyone in the room before she left an event.  She had a very special talent for painting and shared her many pictures with family and friends.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Elton, her parents, three brothers and four sisters, and a grandson, Daniel Woldtvedt.

She is survived by Jane (Loren) Lathrop, Maine; Joan (Jerry) Knudson, Columbia Falls, MT; Pam Gardipee, Oilmont, MT; Carol (Curt) Peterson, Corvallis and a son, David (Dee Atkinson) Woldtvedt, Sweet Grass, MT.  Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Ruth Pettigrew and Anna Mae Woldtvedt of Shelby, MT  A special, lifelong friend, Patti Danielson, of Shelby, also survives.

Services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, November 15 at the Sunburst Lutheran Church in Sunburst, MT.  Whitted Funeral Home of Shelby is in charge of arrangements.
