Alfred "Al" Vanden Bos

Alfred Vanden Bos, 78, passed away December 15, 2019.

Celebration of Life will be Saturday, December 28, 2019, at 10:00 am at the Pondera Valley Lutheran

Church with burial at the Hillside Cemetery. A reception will follow at Pondera Valley Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be Friday, December 27, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Asper Funeral Home.

Alfred was born on November 11, 1941 to Dick and Geneva Vanden Bos in Conrad. He grew up on the

farm along with 4 brothers. He graduated from Valier High School and served in the United States

Marine Corps. After his service in the Marines, he and his older brother, Richard, ran a service station.

They worked together for few years when Al decided to accept a job with Phillips 66 Bulk Plant. He

worked there for a few years then decided to take a job fixing appliances for Arnot’s Furniture in Conrad.

After many years of working for Arnot’s, he decided to go out on his own. He opened Pondera Appliance

and continued serving the community as their appliance repairman for many years.

Alfred married Bonnie Stokes on June 21, 1965. They lived and raised their 2 children in Conrad. He

enjoyed camping, hiking in Glacier National Park, snowmobiling, wood working, raising steers and

spending time with family. He served 20 years on the Conrad Volunteer Fire Department and drove

the school busses.

Alfred is survived by his daughter, Lacetta (Craig) Isenberg; son, Calvin (Susie) Vanden Bos;

grandchildren, Dustin Vanden Bos, Devin Vanden Bos, & Trinity Vanden Bos; brothers, Richard (Shirley)

Vanden Bos, Barney (Claudette) Vanden Bos, Tom (Laura) Vanden Bos, and Terry (Donna) Vanden Bos;

many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Alfred is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie (Stokes) Vanden Bos and his parents, Dick and Geneva

(Vanover) Vanden Bos.
