Allan Elwood Gage, 88, of Shelby, passed away at Marias Care Center on September 21, 2015.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 24 th from 5:00-7:00 at Whitted Funeral Chapel in Shelby.  Funeral Service will be Friday, September 25 th at 2:00 pm at Community United Methodist Church in Shelby.  Interment and military honors will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are preferred to Community United Methodist Church in Shelby.

Allan was born to Orin and Beatrice Gage on January 19, 1927 in Calvin, North Dakota.  He graduated Hamilton High School then went on to Rocky Mountain College.  Allen served in the US Navy from 1944-1946.

In 1949 Allan married Bev Martin in Shelby, MT at the Methodist church.  Together they raised three children, Deborah, Lisa, and Jeff.  Allan worked for his dad at the tire shop in Shelby and farmed in the Conrad area for many years.  Upon “retirement” he became a salesman for John Deere.  During his next “retirement” he worked as a janitor at the post office.  And during his last “retirement” he worked for Dan Whitted at the funeral home.

Allen was a long time member of the United Methodist Church.  He was a Mason, Vet, and an Elk.

Allen is survived by his loving wife Beverly Gage; his daughters Deborah Gage of Missoula and Lisa Rice of Plains; grandchildren: Brett Petersen (Jen), Courtney Johnsrud (Brent), Scott Rice (Jill), and Megan Rice; great grandchildren: Cori Jane Rice, Hadyn Laine Rice, and Thane Moench; sister Marilyn Parker (Gary) of Kalispell; and brother Del Gage (Marleen) of Big Fork, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Orin and Beatrice, and his son, Jeff Allan Gage, and his sisters Audrey Jacobsen and Delores McDonald.
