Allen R. Fassett

August 18, 1938 — August 21, 2021

Cut Bank

Allen “Pete” Fassett, 83, passed away at his home on August 21st,2021 after a lengthy cancer battle. He was born in Rolla, North Dakota to Agnes Mae and Raymond Fassett on August 18th,1938.

He was raised in North Dakota and later moved to Glasgow where he met and married the love of his life, Linda. They were married on March 25,1961. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Allen was a Veteran who served his country in the United States Navy. He was a hardworking man who worked at the Refinery until it closed, at Swenson farms, Cut Bank High School and many other odd jobs over the years.

Allen was quite the character and everyone he encountered got to experience it. He had a talent for making everyone feel special and loved and for drinking coffee so thick nobody else could drink it. He loved his Jif peanut butter and was known to eat it by the spoonful. If he was proud of you, he would tell you and if someone needed “straightened out”, he did so in his own special way with love and humor. You would rarely walk away from a conversation with him without hearing a joke, getting a slap on the back, a light punch in the arm, a lighthearted “shut up” while he grinned, a laugh as he stuck his tongue out and pointed at you, or a good hug. When you asked about his health, you would likely get a brief run down and very little complaining unless his appointments got in the way of him watching his Westerns.

He was always ready to sit down for a good round of Yahtzee, pinochle, or poker and of course he was the “best in the village”. He and his family always welcomed people into their home for a good meal and conversation where he would often say that his Mother Mae was a Saint.
Allen is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Gary(Toby)Fassett  and Marvin(Kelly) Fassett, and special nephew that he raised as a son, Rodney(Katti) Baney; grandchildren, Jackie(Andrew)Davis, Brandi Jo(Daniel)DeLong, Ty Fassett, Geoy, Anni, Jake, Jessi, JJ, and Paeson Baney; great grandchildren, Jordy and Colt Davis, Asher and Micah DeLong; numerous nieces and nephews.

Allen is also survived by two special sisters-in-law, whom he helped to raise, Roberta Baney and Bev (John) Parton; brother, Skip; and sister, Betty.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Jerrold; his mother and father; brothers, Eddy, Irwin and Mike; and sisters, Penny and Phyllis.

At Allen’s request, no services will be held.
