Andrew Allen Andersen

January 17, 1950 — June 4, 2012

Andrew (Andy) Allen Andersen, 62, a transportation specialist from Browning, died Monday, June 4th at his home in Browning of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at Little Flower Parish, Browning, Mt at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 8th. Whitted Funeral Chapel of Shelby is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife Gwyn Andersen, his oldest son Shawn (Paula) Andersen and their children Andrew and Avonlea of Cut Bank, his second son, Judson (Christine) Andersen and their daughter Alayna of Colorado Springs, his daughter, Meghan (Tyson) Roe of Havre and step son Patrick Cork of Missoula and his children Shayla Rae, Austin, Makenzie, Jaxon and Jayden. His brother Tom (Vicki) Andersen of Dillon and sister Marilyn (Steve) Hale, nephew Curtis (Erin) Andersen and daughter Aleksia, and nieces Stephanie and Lily Hale. Andy was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John.
Andy was born January 17, 1950 to Andrew Howard Andersen and Nola Dixon Andersen in Dillon, Mt. Andy graduated from Beaverhead County High School and the University of Montana Western where he majored in History Education. On August 17th, 1974 he married Gwyn Evans. Throughout his life Andy worked as a business teacher, a bookkeeper and fertilizer plant manager for ConAgra, an agronomist with Intermountain Canola, owned and operated Central Express Photo in Great Falls and then Browning and finally as a transportation specialist and mechanic for Browning Public Schools.
Andy’s hobbies included reading, photography and spending time with his children and grand children. He became very adept at remodeling their homes and repairing their vehicles. He will be so greatly missed by all of them. Andy was very active in the Boy Scout program and thoroughly enjoyed the father son camp outs with the Power Troop 93. Andy was very proud of his twenty-two years of service to the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks Hunter Education Program. Memorials are suggested to the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks Hunter Education Program or the memorial of donor’s choice in his memory.
