Annie (Ann) Pearl Wards Carnes, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 10,2018 at the Northern Rockies Medical Center in Cut Bank due to complications from the flu. As she has requested her body has been cremated and a small family and friends memorial service is pending. She will be buried in Arizona along with her husband at the National Veterans Cemetery.
Ann was born on July 28, 1932 to Ina Mae and Ralph Ward in west Texas. At the very young age of 14 she married her lifelong partner of more than 60 years, Cotton. He preceded her in death . She is survived by her daughter Nora(Saul)Saldano of Federal Way, WA, daughter Sherry (Midge) Lorash of Cut Bank, and a son Dwayne(Debbie)Carnes of Goodyear, Arizona. Ann had nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great children.
During her lifetime Ann was a beautician and at one time owned her own salon in Texas. Her family moved to Kent, WA in 1966 where she continued to work as a beautician. She was a avid gardener and had the most beautiful flowers of anyone around. Her hobbies included sewing for her family, square dancing, stamping cards, and loved country and gospel music. She adored her family more than anyone we knew. She was a very active member of her church, loved the Lord, and taking care of the babies in the nursery very favorite thing to do.
As retirement age came along, she and her husband moved to Arizona . She remained there until moving to Cut Bank with her daughter, Sherry four years ago due to health issues.
God has truly gained another angel when he called her home, she will be so missed by her family and friends but we know she is in a much better place. Rest in peace Momma
Letting Go
“ I love you a bushel and a peck and
a hug around the neck”
My Momma said to me
She already knew that I was a wreck
I watched her laying there, suffering and in pain
Lord could you take her home in a big cloud of rain?
No more chores to do, no more worries or woes
Just let her walk with you down that heavenly lane.
I wanted her to stay but I knew I must let her go
She is needed in heaven and there she will grow
Those golden angel wings she deserves so
Let her light up the stars and be all a glow
“I love you a bushel and a peck and
a hug around the neck”
I answered my momma back
Your in a much better place
Sitting up there high on that heavenly deck
.
Look down and see us from time to time
Just be waiting and watching for us to make that same big climb
We will be seeing you again soon
So you be ringing those musical chimes
