Arthur L Erickson was born in Conrad on December 16, 1924 and passed away December 13, 2019 in Conrad. He was raised on the family farm SW of town. After two years in the Army he married his sweetheart, Eloise M Bruner of Valier on November 16, 1952. Art, Eloise and their two daughters lived and worked in the Conrad, Valier, and Ethridge areas. They owned and operated Erickson’s Store where he was Postmaster for nearly 28 years in Ethridge. Upon retiring Art and Eloise moved to their retirement home west of Valier. There they had, “the time of their life!” Close neighbors became daughters and sons. Art always loved farming, mechanics, tractors, photography, flying, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
Art is survived by his wife Eloise (Bruner) Erickson, Daughters Deb (Ken) Schmidt, and Ranae (Russ) Lee. Grandchildren Lance (Rachel) Schmidt, Keith (Carrie) Schmidt, Erik (Sarah) Lee, Amber (Scott) Burton, Wade (Beth) Lee, Tana (Kurt) Winkler. Art has 15 great-grandchildren. Many cousins, nieces and nephews. Sister in laws Madelyn Erickson and Mary Erickson, sister Irene Grimmer, brother Francis (Lita) Erickson, and sister Lee (Burt) Ray. Art is proceeding in death by his parents Hans & Emma (Jacobson) Erickson, sister Clara (George) Reed, brothers Bert (Muriel) Erickson, Harry and George Erickson, brother in law Robert Grimmer, in-laws Paul and Olive Bruner & brother in-law Robert Bruner.
Memorials can be made to the Valier Lutheran Church.
Graveside services with military honors will be held Saturday, August 1, at 2pm at Lakeview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, make donation to charity of donor's choice.
Following the service greet the family during a drive-thru memorial at 1730 Frances Heights Road, Valier.
