Barbara F. (Baney) DeZort

September 18, 1940 — March 8, 2016

Barbara F. DeZort, 75, of Cut Bank, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 11 at Whitted Funeral Chapel in Cut Bank who has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.  Funeral Service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, March 12 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cut Bank.  Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Barbara was born on September 18, 1940 in Medicine Lake, Montana to Hiram and Charlotte Baney.  She attended school in Glasgow, Eureka, and the Meadow Brook School. On April 16, 1955, she married Howard DeZort, and the two made their home in Cut Bank.  Barbara was a homemaker and worked for Cut Bank Public Schools as a cook. She also helped her husband farm and ranch north of town. Howard and Barbara spent many years traveling the horse racing circuit. Her race horses and her cows were her greatest pleasures. She was a loving wife and mother to four sons and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by sisters Eleanor Koepke, Linda (Pete) Fassett and Roberta Baney, all of Cut Bank; Beverly (John) Parton of Watford City, N.D.; Patsy (George) Werner of Canton, Ohio; Lillian (Loy) Ellsworth of Beverly, N.J.; brothers Donald (Lynn) Baney of Shelby and Dick Baney of Watford City, N.D.; sons Calvin (Barbara) DeZort, Doug (Jimilee) DeZort both of Cut Bank, Les (Marj) DeZort, and Dale DeZort both of Kalispell; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard; parents Hiram and Charlotte; brothers Herb, Harold, and Stanley; and sister Lila Hanson; and grandson Joshua DeZort.
