Betty Joan Kanning (Jystad), 81, a homemaker from Shelby, died of natural causes on Friday, September 20th, 2024, at her home in Shelby, surrounded by family.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, 2:00 pm, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Shelby, MT.
She is survived by her four children: Roger Kanning, Adam (Corrine) Kanning, Angela Norman, and Joel (Tami) Kanning; her sister Barbara Peterson, her half-brother Dan Jystad, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 7 grand-puppies, 19 grand-kitties and 1 grand-pig.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Kanning and her parents, Robert (Carol) Jystad and Marjorie (Oscar) Jobe.
Betty was born on March 24, 1943, in Bremerton, WA, and grew up in Kalispell, MT. She moved to the Kanning farmstead when she married Curtis in 1961, and later they permanently moved to Shelby.
Among her closest friends and family, Betty is remembered as a faithful Witness of Jehovah.
She will be forever missed by all those who were touched by her contagious spirit for life, love and laughter. She was a dear friend, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother... and then she flew away.
