Bill Hagen

November 8, 1943 — September 23, 2024

Cut Bank

William “Bill” M. Hagen was born on November 8, 1943 in Conrad to Clarence and Helen (Mainard) Hagen. He passed on Monday, September 23, 2024. Memorial services will be held Sunday, October 6, at 12:30pm at the Cut Bank First Presbyterian Church.

In Bill’s own words, “I moved to different farms ending up in Cut Bank in 1951, graduating in 1962 from Cut Bank High School. After graduation I joined the Navy, I attended many schools including Electricians Mate and traveled to the Gulf of Tonkin, off of Vietnam, with stops in Japan, Philippines, Hong Kong, and Formosa to name a few. After being discharged in 1966, I returned to Cut Bank.

I left for Chicago in December 1967 to attend Coyne Electrcal School and after graduating I went to work for Branch Candy Company. I met and married Patricia Brown on March 28, 1970 and after coming back to Cut Bank on vacation in 1971, we decided to move out here which we did in 1972. After a few odd jobs I went to work for the City of Cut Bank and retired with 30 years in my retirement in 1995. After retirement, I operated my own electrical maintenance business and shut that down when Pat’s health got worse and passed in 2007. I then went to work for the Senior Center driving seniors to and from doctor appointments. I was Parkview Senior of the Year in 2010 and again in 2021, also serving on the board of directors. I belonged to the First Presbyterian Church holding many positions, but the most fulfilling was being a deacon for 20 plus years. Being able to support my church and help people was the most gratifying thing I could do.”
