William “Bill” James May, Jr., 56, of Conrad, Montana died peacefully at his home on June 22.
Bill was born July 1, 1959, in Conrad to William and Elizabeth May. He was a 1978 graduate of Conrad High School and received an Associate’s Degree from Flathead Community College.
Music was the love of Bill’s life. An accomplished professional musician, Bill played in various bands performing throughout Montana, as well as the Western United States. A versatile guitarist, Bill could play any genre of music, and had a particular fondness for Blues. Bill acquired his first electric guitar at age 10 and within 1 hour of plugging it in had learned Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode” from start to finish.
Always a quick wit, with a soft heart, he was a friend to all that met him. Bill’s devotion and love for his family were second to none, demonstrated by his relocating to his hometown of Conrad to assist in the care of his father for the past 7 years. His brothers will forever be grateful to Bill for his dedication and assistance he provided to their father and the comfort he has provided to the family as a whole.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth “Betty” May. He is survived by his father William James May, Sr., Conrad, brothers Patrick May, Salinas, CA, Christopher (Frankie) May, Oxnard, CA, Michael (Molly) May, Spokane, WA, nephew Michael P. May (Stefanie), Seattle, WA, niece Katie May, Bellingham, WA., and his beloved dog Deuce.
Services will be held at the Pondera Funeral Home in Conrad, Thursday, June 30 th , at 4 p.m.
