Bob Jacoby

January 2, 1946 — April 28, 2018

Robert Larse Jacoby, 72, passed away at home on April 28, 2018.

Bob Jacoby was born in 1946 to Ida and Minard (Robert) Jacoby. He was the first New Year's baby born, January 2nd in the old hospital on Main Street. Bob attended schools in Cut Bank and graduated in 1964.

That same year he joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Glasgow at the air base. During the Viet Nam war he was in Okinawa, Japan and Thailand. He was medically discharged in 1968.

Bob was married to Viola Creighton in Oct. 1965. They had one son Robert E. Jacoby born in July of 1971. They were divorced in 1995. He married Fran Hughes on

January 1st, 1997. They had 22 wonderful years together.

Bob worked and retired after 30 years, from the City of Cut Bank where he was the water plant superintendent. Bob did more than work for the city of Cut Bank.

He liked his local history and it was apparent in all his accomplishments. Bob was one of many who started and got information for the Airman's Museum. He was on the board at the Glacier County Historical Museum and served as the manager of the visitors' center for 9 years.

Electronics was another one of his passions. He was an avid Ham radio operator and held adult education classes for beginning computers. He liked working in his yard and had enough patience to figure out his Christmas lights.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Fran; son, Bob; grandson, Daniel; one aunt, Mary Novak; many cousins and step family.
