Bruce Howard Taft, 72, a lifelong farmer and resident of Shelby and Devon, passed away on July 28, 2019.
Bruce was born March 10, 1947 in Great Falls to Levi H. and Doris (Wagner) Taft.
He went to college at Montana State University and worked as a surveyor for a time.
Bruce was a 40 + year Treasurer of the Shelby Rifle Club, an NRA Member, and worked on the Shelby Recycling Committee. He believed in keeping money local stating that “Great Falls won’t get any of my money”. Bruce was an avid supporter of all Shelby High School athletics.
Bruce loved to ride his bicycle. It was nothing for him to ride to Havre, Glacier Park, or to and from the farm.
Survivors include sister, Julie Taft of Boise; brothers, Craig (Carla) Taft of Hardin and Doug Taft of Conrad; numerous nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, and great-great nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be Friday, August 2, at 11:00 AM at Valley View Cemetery in Shelby. A reception at the Coyote Club will follow the service.
