Calvin Rowell

Calvin Gerald Rowell, 77, of Cut Bank, passed peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2020.  There will be a gathering on Friday, September 18, from 6:00 to 7:00pm at Whitted Funeral Chapel in Shelby.

Calvin was born in Walla Walla, WA on August 12, 1943 to Thomas J. Rowell and Nora V. (Pace) Rowell as they were heading back to Oklahoma.  He was raised and educated in Olive, OK.  At the age of 18 he joined the United States Navy where he learned what his trade would be.  In 1964 he came home to Idaho to marry Jana Croft and they had three children; Travis, Kristi, and Levi.  Before moving to Montana, he enjoyed hunting in the Owyhee Mountains and fishing on the Snake River with his brothers and sometimes a sister or two would tag along.  He also enjoyed riding his horse, Brownie, with Travis and his pony near Mountain Home, ID, snowmobiling with Levi near Skyland, and fishing with Kristi in Cascade Lake.

Survivors include his wife, Jana; son, Travis (Koni) Rowell of Libby; daughter, Kristi Rowell of Cut Bank; grandchildren, Stormy, Dalton, Aelie, Calvin, and Raice; great grandchildren, Emma, Bristol, Sladen, and Boone; and siblings, Bobby, Tom, Kevin, Judy, Gladys, and Sherrie.

He is preceded in death by his son, Levi; parents; brother, Roger; and sisters, Mary and Bonnie.
