Carlos Garcia

Carlos Rodriguez Garcia, 56, of Sweetgrass, passed away of cancer at his Sweetgrass home on Monday morning, December 8th, 2014. A rosary will be held at St Thomas Aquinas in Sunburst on Thursday December 11th, 2014 at 10:30am, with the Mass following at 11:00am. Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Garcia; son Carlos Angel Garcia; step-daughters Anna and Angela; father Ignacio Garcia and mother Felicitas Garcia; brothers Gregorio and Ignacio Jr; sisters Ana, Maria and Felicitas.

Carlos was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico on November 4th, 1958. He came to the United States at the age of 5 and grew up in East Los Angeles. His family later moved to the Los Angeles suburb of Lynwood. He moved to Sweetgrass in the summer of 2000, where he worked for W.Y. Moberly Inc., and later UPS Supply Chain Solutions as a customs broker representative for 14 years. Carlos was a great worker, who loved his job and his co-workers.

In his off-time, he loved watching sports and listening to his classic rock. He was an avid Oakland Raiders fan, and enjoyed boxing and UFC fighting. His favorite bands included Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne, and contemporary acts like Metallica and Slipknot. He loved having family and friends over for fight viewing parties at his home.
