Carol Sauby

April 15, 1933 — February 26, 2012

Carol Elizabeth Sauby, 78, a retired sales clerk, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Glacier Care Center in Cut Bank from complications of diabetes. A Luncheon and Memorial service will be held on March 17 at 1:00 pm in the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. The family suggests that memorials be directed to the Northern Rockies Medical Center in Cut Bank. Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Carol Elizabeth was born on April 15, 1933 in Great Falls, Montana to Arthur and Frances (Clapper) Halvorson. She was raised in Cut Bank and graduated from high school in 1951. She worked for Eugene Boyle, and in 1952, married Virgil Lupton. They had two children, Robert and Barbara. Carol had lived in California, Colorado, Helena, Massachusetts, and Germany before returning to Cut Bank. She and Virgil divorced; and in 1968, she married Don Sauby. They had one daughter, Stacey.
Carol worked for Mountain Bell and JC Penney before retiring. She belonged to Rainbow Girls, Grand Cross of Color, Eastern Star, and the Daughters of the Nile.
She enjoyed her friends and her family, and she spent a lot of time at the cabin in Essex. She had many hobbies including knitting and sewing. She will be missed dearly by family and friends.
Carol is survived by her husband, Donald; her son, Robert Lupton of Eden, Utah; and daughters, Barb (Cal) DeZort of Cut Bank and Stacey (Bret) Guith of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; as well as nine grandchildren and four great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Frances Halvorson, and her granddaughter, Holly Lupton.
