Catharina Elizabeth Praag Thompson passed away in her home on July 29, 2013 due to illness. Catharina, known as Dicky to her family and friends, was born on January 26, 1935 in Amsterdam, Holland to Thomas and Alida (Smit) Praag. Dicky was one of eight children and grew up in Holland moving to America in 1959 at the age of 24. Her family settled in Salt Lake City, Utah where she met her husband Robert Thompson. Robert and Dicky were marriad on February 23, 1963 and shared fifty happy years together. They moved to Whitlash, Mt in 1964 and raised four children in the Sweetgrass Hills. Robert and Dicky lived most of there lives in the Sweetgrass Hills moving to Shelby in 1999 where they have resided till present. Dicky was a beatiful wife, mother and grandmother who had a kind heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and enthusiastic love of life.
Dicky is survived by her husband Robert, children Ramona Thompson, Glenn (Renee) Thompson, Miriam Thompson, Christina (Bruce) Thornton, her grandchildren Shelby Williams, Aaron Williams, Dakota Thompson, Rayenn Thompson, Paul Miller, Robert Thornton, Connor Thornton, her siblings Jope (Joka) Praag, Tim Praag, Thomas (Flora) Praag, Ellen Praag, Antonia Grey, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Alida Praag, and two sisters, Miriam Praag and Rea Alleman. Funeral services will be held at St. Williams Catholic Church on Friday August 2, 2013 at 11:30 am.
