Cleone M. (Gerberding) Byxbe

Cleone Marie (Gerberding) Byxbe, 80, passed on Sunday, August 14, 2022.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 19, at 10:00am at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Chester.

Cleone was born February 14, 1942 in Poplar, MT to Dick and Avis (Bauer) Gerberding. She attended school at Vida, MT and graduated from Circle High School in 1960 where she enjoyed home economic classes. Cleone married Roland Byxbe in Vida on June 5, 1960. They lived on the Byxbe ranch near Wolf Point where she was a homemaker, wife, and raised 4 children. They divorced in 1985 and Cleone moved near Wolf Point where she worked as a bartender at Harry’s Night Club.

In 1990, Cleone moved to Billings and lived with her daughter until 1995 when she moved to the Chester community and started working at Liberty Medical Center as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant and at Wheat Country Estates. Growing up Cleone was baptized and confirmed at Presserville Lutheran Church and after moving to Chester enjoyed attending Our Savior Lutheran Church.

When she was younger, Cleone enjoyed rodeo and crocheting. She went on to enjoy reading, color blue, collecting angel figurines, and making fudge for her family. Cleone moved to Liberty Medical Center Nursing Home in 2015.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David and Robert; and son-in-law, Ernie Hoch.

Survivors include sons, Elton (Shawn) Byxbe of Inverness and Roger Byxbe of Williston, ND; daughters, Carla Hoch of Washington and Dora Byxbe of Cleveland, OH; and grandchildren, Jared, Amber and Taylor; Elione, Elondra, Evan, and Erin, and Zachary.
