Clyde Prewett

July 12, 1912 — May 22, 2018

On May 22, 2018, Jennings “Clyde” Prewett, 105, quietly went to meet the Lord passing of natural causes in Conrad.  He was born July 12, 1912 in Neosho Falls, Kansas to John and Clara Prewett.  After graduating from North Oklahoma College, Clyde began his life occupation in the oil field.  In 1935 he married Lucy Ellen Martin.  Moving to Odesa, Texas, Clyde worked for a small oil company and later advanced to employment with Phillips Petroleum Company for 43 years, retiring in Montana in 1977.

During his time in Odessa, the couple had 3 children, Ronald Jennings, Linda Gale, and Sharon Kay.

Survivors include children, Ronald (Juanita) of Conrad; Linda (Roger) Somers of Manchester, MO, Sharon of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Wendy Prewett (Tiernan) of Ben Wheeler, TX, Robert (Julie) Prewett of Conrad, Brett (Lori) Somers of Delta Jct., AK, Robin (Chip) Hayes of Bowling Green, KY, Rachel (James) Bowden of North Pole, AK; nieces LaVona Haldy, Karen Rayfield, Shirley (Steve) Noel; and nephew, Jerry (Janell) Prewett all of Texas; extended granddaughters, Terri Grubb Prewett, Katherine (Duane) Lamm, Jill (Joe) Seymour, and Sandra (Wayne) Woodland; and many great and great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Lucy; grandson, Randy; brother, Bill; sister, Betty; and nephew, Billy; and good friend, Steve Kellogg.

“Thus ends the Patriarch’s 105 year saga”. His large family will carry the story on.  A very special thank you to Dr. Taylor and all the staff at the PMC Extended Care for all the love and caring attention that was shown to Clyde.

A private family service will follow cremation.
