Cora Mae Michaels

Cora Mae (Ekholt) Michaels passed away Sunday, September 6 th at the Glacier Care Center of natural causes.

She was born October 7th 1922 to Carl and Caren (Sabo) Ekholt at the family farm north of Devon.  She attended a 1 room country school with one teacher for all grades from 1st thru 8th.  Cora went thru the 4th grade then moved to Shelby where she graduated in 1940.  Soon after graduation she began doing secretarial work.

Cora married Phillip Michaels on November 13th, 1943.  They lived on the family farm north of Cut Bank.  Together they had three children:  Linda, Alan, and Robert.

Cora was a member of the Moose, Cowbells, and Stock Growers Association.  She was a farmer, rancher, and a talented seamstress.  Cora loved playing cards, dancing, cooking, and most of all she looked forward to spring branding.  Her favorite thing in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Cora is survived by her daughter Linda Olson of Parkers Prairie MN; her sons Alan (Jacinta) Michaels of Glendive MT, and Robert (Diana) Michaels of Cut Bank; her grandchildren Tammy (Tom) Welle of Alexandria, MN, Loretta (Bill) Breding of Dupuyer, Janet (Shane) Prevast of Billings, Amy Michaels of Glendive, Raymond (Heather) Michaels of North Cut Bank, Tyson (Melissa) Michaels of Cut Bank;  13 great grandchildren with one due to arrive in October, and 1 great great grandson.

Cora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Phillip Michaels, a son-in-law LaVerne Olson, and all of her brothers and sisters.
