Gerald David Kennedy (59) passed away on May 11, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. David was born to Jerry and Esther Kennedy on February 28th, 1964 in San Francisco California. David graduated from Shelby High School in 1982. David was a dedicated family man, a hard worker, and a beloved member of his community.
David knew early on that he was a man of the people. His boisterous personality and wild vocabulary made it easy for his life in sales. He started as a customs broker but more definingly as the founder of “Car Town.” On his weekly radio spot, David boasted to Jerry Puffer that he sold ketchup to a lady in a white dress. His handshake and napkin deals were a common closing sign. While David loved to sell, he found the most gratification in mentoring new sales professionals as they started their careers.
David bled blue and orange, his Denver Bronco’s cart was a staple out at the Cut Bank Golf Course. There was nothing he loved more than an impromptu skins game or cart scramble.
David leaves behind his devoted wife of 20 years, Debbie (Lindskog) Kennedy. David is survived by his children, Jeremiah (Danielle) and Lela Kennedy. David was blessed with bonus sons, whom he loved dearly to the end of his days, Lee (Justina) Gobert and Quincy Weatherwax. David cherished his grandchildren, Keegan, Odin, Roper, Jaylee, Elijah, Ashton, and Myleigh. He is survived by brothers, Dan (Tristy) of Savannah, GA and Greg (Teri) of Birmingham, AL; many nieces and nephews.
David will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His warm smile, infectious laugh, vivacious vocabulary, and big personality will be forever cherished. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to those he knew and loved.
David’s family invites you to celebrate his life on June 30th, 2023 at 5:00 pm at the Cut Bank Golf Course. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Cut Bank Golf Course.
