David Jerome Wollan

David Jerome Wollan passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025 surrounded by his family and friends.

A graveside service is planned at a later date.

David was born on February 7, 1944 in Vancouver, Washington to Lynn & Mildred Wollan. He graduated from Watford City North Dakota High School and then attended Dickinson North Dakota State College where he majored in engineering.

David married Myrna Johnson on January 14, 1964 in Williston, North Dakota. They were heading for the west coast, stopped in Shelby and being short of cash, Dave went downtown and found work the next day at Ted’s Hardware Store. One year later he went to work for the State of Montana Road Department in Engineering and Maintenance, he retired with 41 1/2 years of service.

David had one daughter, Tammy Lynn. She was his pride and joy. He was always there for her and loved going to her track meets, shooting bow and arrows, spending a lot of time with her driving cars and stick shift pickups, 4 wheeling, fishing and water skiing and camping with his family. He loved her dearly. She helped him with building the family home. He enjoyed carpentry work, and she was his right-hand man, always their helping him. Later when Tam had her own home and had any problem, she would call her Dad & he was right there to fix it.

David was blessed with one grandchild, a grandson Colt Lynn Pederson. He spent a lot of time with him and later took him flying, 4 wheeling, fishing & water skiing. He loved going to all Colt’s wrestling, track and football games. He was very proud of him and made sure he told him how much he was Ioved.

David enjoyed flying, 4 wheeling, camping with family, hunting, traveling, fishing, water skiing, his many years of trips to Yellowstone for a week of snowmobiling with friends and family, every Wednesday, playing pitch with his friends, playing poker once a month with friends and he loved spending time with his friends and family.

 David and Myrna shared a great 60 years together. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Lynn Wollan Pederson; parents, Lynn & Mildred Wollan; in-laws, Ray & Palma Johnson; sister-in-law, Sandra Wollan; nephew, Jeff Nelson. Survivors include his wife, Myrna Wollan; grandson, Colt Pederson; brothers, Miles Wollan, Cornell (Laurel) Wollan, Arden (Pyong) Wollan; sister, Linda Wollan Nelson; sisters-in-law, Belle Johnson Bergerud and Janice Johnson Leiseth; nieces and nephews, Jason Leiseth, joy Leiseth Patten, Leif Bergerud, Bradley Wollan, Darnell Wollan, Heather Wollan Luchi, Heidi Wollan Truger, Travis Wollan, Brandon Wollan, Elizabeth Wollan Pepper, Bryon Wollan, Michelle Wollan Forestter, Carrie Nelson Wright, and Nickol Nelson.
