Dawn (Ross) Bjornstad

Dawn Eloise Ross Bjornstad, 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on January 21, 2023 at her home on the Bjornstad farm north of Joplin.

Dawn was born in Billings, MT to Donald A and Margaret L (Clark) Ross on July 4th, 1930.  She was fond of telling everyone that she had lived with her family in 3 states, 25 towns and 27 houses during her childhood.  While living in Joplin, MT she married Carl Eugene Bjornstad on June 28th, 1948.  They made their home and raised their family on the Bjornstad farm, 25 miles north of Joplin. Dawn was a devoted wife, loving mother and multi-talented homemaker.  She loved knitting, sewing, crafts, painting, cooking, and baking, gardening of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. She had great fun playing board games and card games with her friends, children, and grandchildren. She was a den mother for cub scouts.  She loved her Lord Jesus and showed it by how she lived her life. At church she taught Sunday School and bible studies.

Dawn is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Carl Eugene Bjornstad; her parents; her sister, Glee Clark; and sons-in-law, John Pierce and Ron Nelson.

Dawn is survived by her children, Donald (Alvina) Bjornstad, Barbara Nelson, Robert (Rose) Bjornstad; her brothers, Clark Ross and Leland Ross; grandchildren, Cameron, Cale, Kayleith, Laura Dawn, Felicia, Halcyon, and Jocelyn; and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10am on Saturday January 28th, 2023 at Chester Alliance Church.
