Dean Gustave Ekberg

Dean Gustave Ekberg, age 76, died at home in Shelby, Montana, on November 9, 2023. He was born November 17, 1946, in Kenmare, North Dakota, the son of Gustave and Helen (Nelson) Ekberg. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Kenmare High School in 1964. Dean was preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his sisters Dianne (Robert) Arnold and Susan (David) Lindvall, a niece & nephew, and many cousins. 

Graveside Remembrance is planned for the summer of 2024 at Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, North Dakota. Memorials are suggested to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) or the donor’s choice. Arrangements are with Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, North Dakota.

The family wishes to thank the many people in Shelby and Cut Bank who showed kindness to Dean during his decades of mental illness.
