Diane Carole Darlington

Diane Carole Darlington was born on December 2, 1939, in Conrad. She was one of 2 children born to Carl and Frances Borys of Chester. Diane was raised at the farm south of Chester and started school at Hay Coulee school by the farm and later graduated from high school at Great Falls Central High School in 1957. On September 7th, 1957, Diane married Clifford ‘Tony’ Nahrgang from Craig. In the 15 years that followed they made their home in Great Falls, Fairfield, and Cascade while Tony worked at construction. In 1971 they took over the Borys farm south of Chester. After Tony’s passing in December 1987, Diane continued to live on the farm until she met and married Robert Darlington of Big Sandy on November 23, 1990. They lived on Bob’s ranch until they moved outside of Columbia Falls until Bob became ill and then moved to Havre, to be closer to family. She continued to live in Havre after Bob’s passing in1994. She briefly moved to Kalispell in 2021 due to the start of having issues with dementia. In May of 2022 she moved to Wheat Country Estates in Chester and resided there until September of 2023 when she then moved Beehive Homes in Great Falls for dementia care. Diane passed away on November 29, 2024, due to Alzheimer’s 3 days short of her 85th birthday.

Diane loved to bake, garden, taking walks, bible study and all church activities as well as life at the farm. She loved Christmas and all the decorating that went with it, as well as all special occasions. She loved harvest time and cooking for everyone. Diane had a sweet tooth and loved baking treats for all occasions. She enjoyed trips to Disney World and Hawaii as well as trips to Flathead Valley. Diane was a born-again Christian with a deep faith. She helped with special needs kids in the Havre school system and worked with Faye Wolfe at Faye’s clothing store, Fashion Focus, in Chester before she met Bob. Diane wanted to be remembered the most for her love of the Lord and her precious children and grandchildren.

Diane’s survivors include her children, Mike (Kathy) Nahrgang of Chester, John (Jackie) Nahrgang of Kalispell and Lisa Bickford of Chester; and her stepchildren, Rick, Cheryl, Marlys and Russel. She is survived by her grandchildren, Meaghen Kraft, Kylee Knutson, Ryley Nahrgang, Cade Nahrgang, Justin Bickford, and Dylan Bickford; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Frances Borys; sister, June; her first husband, Tony; and her second husband, Bob.

 Visitation will be held Thursday, December 5, at Rockman Funeral Chapel from 5 to 7:00pm. Funeral service will be Friday, December 6, at 10:00am at Bethel Lutheran Church. A reception at the church will follow the service.
