Dick Ellis Palmer, 84, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Northern Rockies Medical Center in Cut Bank, Montana. Dick was born December 22, 1930 to Dick and Elvina Palmer in Klouten, North Dakota. He graduated from Cut Bank High School in 1948.
A rosary/vigil will be 7:00 pm Tuesday October 13, 2015 and the funeral mass will be 2:00 pm on October 14 both at St. Margaret’s Catholic church in Cut Bank Montana. Military burial service will follow at the Crown Hill Cemetery and reception after at St. Margaret’s church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitted Funeral Chapel in Cut Bank. Dick served in the United States Marine Corp from 1948 to 1952 in the Korean War where he received several purple hearts.
Dick was an avid hunter, fisherman and master of all. He worked at the Union Oil refinery for 35 years and worked his way to refinery operator. Dick traveled all over the world from Thailand to Dubai as an oil consultant.
He is survived by his wife Marie Whitford Palmer of almost 43 years, along with six children, Gregg Palmer (Dana), Lauri Durocher (Brad), Keri Burgwald (Mark), Scott Palmer (Christine), Fred Lowder (Becky) and Debi Chanco (Phil). He had 19 grandkids and 18 great grandkids.
He also had numerous loving nieces, nephews and relatives.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Coursey (grandson), Cole Lowder (grandson) and long time cherished friends Don Martin, Don Sauby, Don Topp, Dwayne Phippen, Ron Hill and Bob Marchion.
