Donna Marie Sorlie, 80, of Conrad, passed away on March 31, 2020, at Pondera Medical Center.
Donna was born on September 19, 1939, in Wilsall to the late Alfred and Mae Walden. Donna told others that a doctor was not available, so the local dentist delivered her. Donna moved to Conrad in the 1980s where she met the love of her life Blackie Sorlie.
Donna was an outgoing and special lady who would go without so someone else would not have to. She was a nurse for over 30 years and was an active member of the Moose and VFW.
Donna volunteered and ran the Red Cross Blood Drive for over 25 years. The Lutheran Church and all of it’s people held a special place in Donna’s heart.
Donna is survived by sons, Wayne Ellsworth and Ernest “Buddy” Ellsworth; daughters, Vicki Globstad, Marla Ellsworth, and Michelle Lindenberg; granddaughters, Christy (Grinnell) Day Chief, Corin Globstad, Amanda Donges, Mindy Flock-Howd, Alicia Day Chief and Shinnell Day Chief; grandsons, Michael Ellsworth Andrew (Rita) Donges, Boen (Jessi) Globstad Mitch Flock, Justin Baker, Robbie Burch, Justice Lindenberg, Matthew Day Chief and Cody (Kayla) Day Chief; great-granddaughter, Savannah Day Chief; great-grandsons, CJ DayChief and Drakon Globstad; great-great-granddaughters, Kaydence Tailfeathers, Kendall Tailfeathers, Kyra Culver, Mayliegh Day Chief and Alaynah Day Chief; and great-great-grandson, Andrew Day Chief.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Julian ‘Blackie’ Sorlie; son, Jim Ellsworth; granddaughter, Felecia Baker; and sisters, Alice Hartman and Melissa Theo.
Memorial services will be held Monday, July 27, at 11:00 AM at the Pondera Valley Lutheran Church. A reception at the church will follow the burial.
