Doris Kolstad Fraser, 90, lifetime resident of Chester, died Saturday, December 16, 2023, of natural causes.
Private graveside services were held at Chester Cemetery on December 21,2023.
Doris Kolstad Fraser was born August 25, 1933, in Chester, the daughter of Henry & Mabel Kolstad. She attended school in Chester & was a graduate of Chester High School. Attended Concordia College. Doris married Bill W. Fraser and raised a family of three on the Kolstad Homestead wheat farm south of Chester as a Domestic Engineer.
Doris was a devoted Lutheran; she was Lydia Circle Chairman for over 20 years. She was active as a
4-H leader when her children were in 4-H. She enjoyed dancing, pinochle, and a good scrabble challenge with her grandchildren. Family coming first, she enjoyed cooking and keeping an orderly house, and later babysitting her grandchildren. Doris had fond memories of her travels over the years, to the Holy Land with her mother in 1975, Mexico. The Orient, Hawaii, Africa, Caribbean & Europe. She loved the times traveling to the Hostfest in Minot, N.D. & meeting up with her cousins from Wisconsin. And several trips throughout the United States.
Survivors include son, William (Cyndee) Fraser; daughters, Brenda Streit and Bonita Morrow; sisters, Kay Pederson and Sonja (Dennis) Diemert; grandchildren, Courtney Montgomery, Derek Fraser, Amy Jarrell, Jaci Akey, Tyler Streit, Brandon Morrow, and Desi Morrow; and great grandchildren, Ryan Ramberg, Jace Ramberg, Ashlynn Ramberg, Brody Fraser, Blake Fraser, Kruz Fraser, Kyla Jarrell , Anna Akey, Wyatt Akey, Brant Streit, Cooper Streit, and Brooke Streit. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Mabel Kolstad; brother, Allen Kolstad; sister, Hannah Johnson; and granddaughter Ashley Anne Fraser.
