Doris M. Running Crane

Doris Mary (Meineke) Running Crane, 67, passed away July 16, 2017.
Doris was born March 22, 1950 to Doris Lillian Gilham Meineke and Jess Ira Meineke in Browning.  She married Roger “Sassy” Running Crane in 1966 to which they had four children: Roger Jess, Laura Sue, Clayton Michael, and their beloved Jessie Lynn. Doris attended school in Browning and graduated Blackfeet Community College an AAS in human service in 2001. She graduated with honors as salutatorian of her class. She worked for the Blackfeet Tribe (10 years) as a nutritionist and secretary. Doris worked for Indian Health Service (14 years) as a medical records technician and lastly for the Blackfeet Tribe as CCDF Manager (20 years).
She enjoyed being with her family, horse racing, picnics, bingo, gambling, and was an avid rock collector. The highlight of Doris’ life was spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; children, Clayton and Jessie Running Crane; 8 grandchildren; Wesley R.C., Brandon Lee R.C., Jessie R.C., Michael John R.C., Zack R.C, Clayton Michael R.C., Sammy and Steve Skunkcap. 5 great grandchildren; Kolton R.C., Damon R.C., Shawna, Shawn. and Skyla Rose Skunkcap. Sisters; Connie (Jerald) Rosenberger, Susan Meineke, and Irene (Bill) Goss; and brother, Jack (Jolene) Meineke.
She is preceded in death by her son, Roger Jess; daughter, Laura Sue; and sister, Yvonne Anne.

Rosary services will be Thursday, July 20, at 7PM at Old Eagle Shield Center. Funeral mass will be Friday, July 21, at 11AM at Little Flower Parish. Burial to follow in Big Moon Cemetery.
