Dorothy Ann Gilligan, age 82, of Cut Bank passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the Glacier Care Center.
Memorial mass will be held Monday, February 5, at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret's Catholic Church.
Dorothy was born in Conrad, on the way to the hospital in Great Falls, to Clifford and Alice Curtis. She was the oldest of five children. After losing her father when she was 14,
Dorothy took on a much larger role in helping to raise her four siblings in Cut Bank.
She married Patrick Gilligan in June of 1955. She was a mother who loved to sew, and made lots of school clothes for her five children,. Pinochle, Canasta, books,
movies, and knitting were among her favorite things to do.
Dorothy was an Avon representative for more than 50 years, as well as a clerk for the Coast to
Coast/Ace Hardware for 25 years.
She is survived by her five children, Debbie (John) Grealish, Jeanne (Ron) Armbruster, Mary Fran (Tom) Petaja, Brenda (Jim) Casey, Dennis (Kim) Gilligan as well as 11 grandchildren
and 11 great grandchildren; three siblings, Dennis (Tonya) Curtis, Edie Brashear, Evelyn (Al) Juan. She is preceded in death by her husband Patrick Gilligan, mother and father, Alice and Clifford Curtis, her step-father Simon Thiebert, sister Francis Sprague, and grandson Canon Armbruster.
