Dorothy Ann Sargent was born January 17th, 1941 in Conrad to Henry and Marian Nelson. She grew up in Conrad and her family moved to Cut Bank when she was a sophomore. She graduated from Cut Bank High School in 1959. Dorothy went to Kinman Business in Spokane, WA to further her education.

Dorothy met her husband, Joseph Sargent, in 1961. They were blessed with 3 children in Minnesota. In December of 1963 they moved to New York where they were blessed with a 4th child.

In 1971 Dorothy moved back to Shelby where she lived till her passing.

Dorothy loved the Lord and took every opportunity to tell others about Him. “God bless you.” was her most said phrase.

Dorothy is survived by her precious children, Paula Sargent, Joseph (Ali) Sergeant, Diana Sonju, and James Sargent; her two grandchildren, Jeff and Ron Sonju; her sisters, Malina Donovan, Audrey Kieft, Janet Dormady, and Julie (Wayne) Clark; and her beautiful nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews, and many family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Claude Kieft and Don Dormady; son-in-law, Ron Sonju.

She was a thoughtful, kind, selfless caring, and generous person.

Her children were her blessing and she loved them all very much. She cherished all her family, friends, and her church community.

Memorial service will be Friday, March 12, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church. A reception at the church will follow the service.
