Edward R. Monroe, of Valier, passed away February 5, 2022 at the Glacier Care Center in Cut Bank. He was born September 24, 1941 to Paul and Mabel Monroe. He was raised on the family farm SE of Valier. He attended school in Valier and graduated from Valier High School. After graduation he worked on the farm milking cows, raised pigs, drove tractor, and combine.

He married Jane Getts in 1975. They had 2 daughters, Chere and Marry. Ed and Jane were later divorced. Ed worked for Glenn Habets in Kevin until he became disabled.

He will be missed by his many friends in Valier. He was well known at the Panther, the Senior Center, Library, and Froggies.

He is survived in death by his daughters, Chere (Dean) Killyan and Marry Monroe; his grandchildren, Matthew, Shandy, and Darrah; his great granddaughter, Ellodie; and his sisters, Helen (Joe) Suta and Evelyn Mero.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Glen; and brother-in-law, Don.

Vigil will be held Thursday, February 10, at 6pm. Funeral mass will be Friday, February 11, at 10am. Both services will be held at St Francis Catholic Church in Valier.
