Eleanor Sunde White
August 31, 1928 – April 5, 2015
Sunde was born to Edward and Nellie Carroll and raised in Valier, MT. Sunde attended primary school in Valier and High School in Conrad, MT.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 am on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Devon Lutheran Church. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Sunde will be inurned at Valley View Cemetery in Shelby.
On January 15, 1947 Sunde and Robert were married. While waiting for Robert to return from the Korean War, Sunde taught ball room dance at Arthur Murray School of Dance in Spokane.
Farming was their livelihood with family being Sunde’s love and priority. She was a cheerful and happy homemaker and mother of their children Robin, Linnet and Brian. Sunde welcomed each grandchild with open arms: Brent, Daisy, Dustin, Dillon, Ryan, Renee, Alex and Briane, and also each great grandchild: Zoe, Taylor, Austin, Hadley, Rylee and Reese. She celebrated each one’s arrival and was a loving grandmother. Sunde was actively involved in their lives and supported their interests and activities.
Sunde taught Bible School and Sunday school at the Devon Lutheran Church, sang in the church choir, served on Church Council and was a member of the Shelby Hospital Auxiliary for many years. She helped assemble care bags and sewed blankets and quilts for the church ministry. Sunde also volunteered her time as a 4-H leader, using her talents to teach classes in photography, cooking and sewing.
In her free time, Sunde enjoyed painting landscapes, flowers and mountains.
Proceeded in death by Eddie, Edward, Nellie, John, Olive and Ethel. Surviving family are Robert White of Shelby, Robin and Kim Kaufman of-Missoula, Linnet and Darrell Doane of Shelby, Brian and Darcy White of Shelby, Lewis and Roselyn Carroll of Fort Shaw, Edna Carroll of Spokane, WA and many nieces, nephews and family members.
