Florence Clara Roberts

Florence C. Roberts, 97, died Monday, June 3, 2024 at the long term care facility in Chester, Montana. 

She was born December 21, 1926 in Wildrose, North Dakota to Herman & Florence Busch. The family moved to Portland Oregon when Florence was thirteen.  She graduated from Jefferson High School in Portland, OR in 1944. After graduation she went to work full time for Safeway grocery store and continued working in the grocery business until retirement. She met Charles Roberts while working at Safeway and they were married on March 4, 1957. Florence was an excellent sewer, and her passion was making quilts. She made hundreds of quilts which were displayed in quilt shows and at the county fair. She also sold quilts and donated them for raffles. All her children were born in Portland, OR. Wayne, Phillip, Mark, David and Paul. 

 Chuck and Florence were members of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Tigard, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sherwood, St. Peter the Fisherman Lutheran Church in Lincoln City, and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Chester, MT.

Chuck and Florence took many RV trips, driving through 48 states. The longest trips were to Alaska and Nova Scotia.

 Florence is survived by sons, Wayne (Maria Fe), David (Diane) and Paul (Ann Marie) Roberts; daughter-in-law, Wanda Roberts; brother, Harold Bush; grandchildren, Sherry, Kristen, Matthew, Rachel, Stephanie, Megan, and Marcus; step grandchildren, Ali and Ricardo; and great grandchildren, Amber, Teylor, Olivia, Hailey, Isaac, Isaiah, Eli, Clara, Ashlynn, Lillian, Josiah, Owen, Lucas, Noah, Kayson, Laney, Adaline, Daisy Mae, Lila, Clayton, Charles.

Florence is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Frances; husband, Charles; and sons, Mark and Phillip.

 In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the St. Peter the Fisherman Church.
