On Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, Frances J. Reagor, loving wife and mother of three, passed away.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m. at Whitted Funeral Chapel, located at 225 Sixth Ave. South in Shelby.
Fran was born on May 16, 1940, in Sioux Falls, S.D. She lived in the Pacific Northwest on Vashon Island as a youth and then Seattle and Tacoma until the age of 35, when she moved to Great Falls and then Shelby, where she’s lived for the past 40 years.
Fran was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is well remembered for her love of cooking, especially baking, of which she was truly amazing. While in Shelby, Fran joined the Toole’s Busy Belles Extension Club and was also vice president and then president of the Toole County Extension Council. She was involved in numerous volunteer endeavors with the extension office, all three schools and the nursing home. Fran also wrote a cooking column for three and a half years called “The Melting Pot” for the Shelby Promoter. Her column always included an insightful, and usually humorous, story along with the recipe for that week.
Fran was very family oriented, the only sister to move away from Washington State, resulting in a love to ride the train and visiting with the sisters she loved so much. A majority of Fran’s family continues to live in the Washington area.
Fran and her family were active members of the United Methodist Church in Shelby for over 10 years, where she was a very active member of both the church and UMW. She cooked many meals for the church, besides helping with numerous functions. Fran also became a quilter and finished many projects of various patterns, giving most of them away.
Fran had a wonderful sense of humor and was a servant at heart, helping any and all that she could. Her beloved dog, Brownie, washer constant companion and joy for the past seven years.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; children, Don, Debi and Cameron; four sisters; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Fran was preceded in death by her father, Elmer; mother, Mabel; and brother, Rocky.
