Francis “Bigman” Bullshoe Jr, Blackfeet name “Rides Many Horses” born September 9, 1942 and passed away on July 28, 2014. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, July 31 st , at Little Flower Parish. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Friday, August 1 st , at St. Anne Catholic Church in Heart Butte.
Francis was born in Browning, MT to the late Francis Bullshoe Sr and Lillian Henault Bullshoe. He was raised on the family ranch on Badger Creek. He was a lifelong rancher who also enjoyed packing into the mountains to hunt. Along with gambling, he especially enjoyed attending his children and grandchildrens' sports and other activities.
He graduated from Flandreau Indian School in 1960 and graduated from Haskell Indian School. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1966. He worked in San Francisco California for the Social Security Office. He worked for the Blackfeet Tribe in various departments including water, grant writer, law enforcement, planning and eventually retiring as a finance monitor in 2000.
Francis is survived by his wife, Rosemary Bullshoe. They recently celebrated their 47 th wedding anniversary. Children include, Toni (Mike) Tatsey, Lynnel, Frances (Glenn), Joe (Kristy) and Royce Irwin .Grandchildren include Neil (Gina), Mykayla, Joerel, Tristin, Kimimina Hota, Hehaka Waste’ Hoksina, Jared, Joelee, Hailee, Jospeh Jr., Peyton and Aaron. Great grandchildren, Brinley and Bronxtyn. He also survived by June Tatsey, Joan Kennerly and Carmen Marceau.
Francis was in death by his parents, siblings; Mavis Mitchell, Doris Old Person and Gail Lee Bullshoe.
He will be greatly missed for his uplifting spirit to those who crossed his path.
