Frank was born in Newville, North Dakota, on November 23, 1928 and was raised in Cando, North Dakota. He served in the United States Army from 1951-54 and then moved to Cut Bank in August of 1955. He worked many years for both Harvey Ehlert Construction and Dallas Smith Construction.
Frank enjoyed following his kids in their activities and sporting events and delighted in their accomplishments. He did the same with his many grandkids. He loved teasing them and telling "grandpa jokes" that he laughed at more than anyone. He had his daily route of driving around town, and checking on his friends and neighbors. Frank was always willing to lend his construction knowledge and "elbow grease" to his family whether it was their home improvement projects or going to help Butch in Choteau with building a new football press box. He was very loved by his family and friends and will be truly missed.
Frank is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley (Geving) Damberger; daughters, Toni Baughman, Lana (Curtis) Miller, and Peggy (Danny) Nygaard, all of Cut Bank; son, Butch (Kathy) Damberger of Bozeman; and sister, Thersia Priest of Cando, North Dakota; thirteen grandchildren, Miles, Kodi, and Cooper, Tiffany, Tara, Traci, Tori, and Taylor, Kristin, Kelly, and Ryan, Emmie and Garrett; as well as four great-grand children; and many nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Max and Balbina Damberger; brothers Louie, Max, Danny, Joe, and Carl; sisters, Lena Kimball, Barbara Christopherson, and Anna Marie "Toots" Jacobson; son-in-law, Jimmy Baughman; and infant grandson, Brock Baughman.
