Fredrick Hass

December 2, 1942 — September 23, 2015

Fredrick Herman Hass, 72, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 of complications from surgery.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Shelby.  A reception for family and friends will follow in the church hall.

Fred was born December 2, 1942 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Herman and Mildred Hass.  They then moved to Glendive, where he met the love of his life.  He graduated from DCHS in 1961.  He enlisted in the Navy and married his soul mate, Helen Fulton, August 8, 1965.  They had 2 daughters Dina and Leigh.  He started working with Amtrak and retired after 30 years in 2003.

He was an avid sportsman, who loved to bow hunt and fish.  He also had a passion for making beautiful recurve bows.  Fred’s passion and his life were his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife Helen of 50 years; daughters Dina (Jim) House, Leigh (John) Zell; grandchildren Jessica (Bryant) Kinyon, Joshua House, Aaron House, Madilyn House, Henry Zell, Carly Zell; and one great grandson, Ryder Kinyon.
