George L. Horgus

George L. Horgus, of Sweetgrass, passed away March 22, 2015 at Marias Care Center.
Viewing will be from 4:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, March 26 th , followed by a vigil service at 7:00 both at Whitted Funeral Chapel in Shelby. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am on Friday, March 27 th at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Sunburst. George will be laid to rest at the Sweetgrass Cemetery.
George was born November 27, 1923 in Fenwood, Saskatchewan to Hungarian immigrants Louis and Margaret Horgus. He married Marguerite Wolanski on June 28, 1950 in Sunburst, Montana. George farmed in the Sweetgrass area. He loved horses and sausage making.
George is survived by his wife Marguerite, of Sweetgrass; children Nancy Horgus Whitt of Missoula, John (Cindy Florez) Horgus of Sweetgrass, Roger (Janine) Horgus of Shelby, Gayle (Tim) Buckley of Sweetgrass, and Michelle Line of Missoula; grandchildren Bryan and Jessica Whitt, Beth Loomis, Dylan and Trevor Horgus, Hunter and Bridger Line; great grandchildren Jasmine and Amaria Carr, and Noah Loomis; and brother Lorne Horgus of Milk River, Alberta.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Hilda and Lillian; brothers William and Robert; and grandson Shane Anthony Horgus.
