George J Waldner

George J Waldner, 87, a minister at the Camrose Colony near Ledger, passed away at his home on March 22, 2012 from natural causes. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, March 26, at 12:30 pm at the Camrose Colony with burial to follow in the colony cemetery. Whitted Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
George was born February 24, 1925 to John and Sarah (Kleinsasser) Waldner at the Rockport Colony near Magrath, Alberta where he also grew up and was educated. In December 1952 he and Sarah Hofer were married at the Rockport Colony near Pendroy. George was a German schoolteacher for 16 years then became the colony minister, a position he held until his death.
George is survived by his wife Sarah of Camrose Colony; children, Rev Jacob (Rebecca) Waldner, George (Martha) Waldner, Martin (Helen) Waldner, Rebecca (Will) Kleinsasser, and Justina (Philip) Kleinsasser all of Camrose Colony, John (Sarah) Waldner, Sam (Lydia) Waldner, and Joe (Dorothy) Waldner all of East End Colony near Havre, Sarah (John ) Hofer of Springwater Colony near Harlowton, Esther (David) Wipf and Annie (Enoch) Wipf of Big Sky Colony near Cut Bank; as well as 64 grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Annie (Mike) Gross of Mialta Colony in Alberta, Canada, Rachel (David) Kleinsasser and Susie (Sam) Waldner both of Hartland Colony near Havre, Rebecca (John) Waldner of Hilldale Colony near Havre, and David (Susie) Waldner of East End Colony near Havre.
He is predeceased by brothers, John Sam, Joseph, and Jacob; sisters, Sarah and Katie; and granddaughter, Laura J Waldner.
