On Wednesday July 4, 2012, Independence Day, Geraldine Lindseth (Gerry) Jolliffe, 81, of Cut Bank, gained her freedom to go be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She passed away at the Cut Bank nursing home of natural causes. A celebration of her life will be at 11:00 am on Monday, July 9th at St. Margaret Catholic Church where a reception will immediately follow the service. Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Gerry was born October 10, 1930 to George & Marie (Lovelace) Lindseth in Choteau. Very early in life she was blessed with her step-father, Julian K “Snappy’ Stenson. She spent her childhood and attended schools in Choteau, and worked at various jobs there. In 1948, Gerry and LeRoy Lehnerz were married and to this union two children were born: Cathy and Ron. They were later divorced. In 1967 she married Arley Jolliffe in Great Falls. Arley brought with him three children, Tim, Bob and Gail. Gerry and Arley had one child together, Julie. Gerry and Arley would have celebrated 45 years together this year.
Gerry enjoyed cross stitch, gardening, crafts, golfing, and bowling. She was involved in St. Margaret Catholic Church, Cowbells, WIFE, Women of the Moose and the Eagles Lodge.
She was an inspiration of strength to many over the years through her many battles with her health, she always had a smile and a ‘God bless you’.
Survivors include her husband, Arley of Cut Bank; brother, Dan (Jean) Lindseth of Choteau; sister, Candy (Tom) Stenson of Wolf Creek; children, Cathy (Paul) Schulte of Wolf Creek, a son Ron (Kathy) Lehnerz of Maricopa, Arizona, son Bob (Lani) Jolliffe of Soldotna, Alaska, daughter Gail (Doug) Mitchell of Spokane, Washington, and daughter Julie (Jim) Fortune of Essex; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George Lindseth, Marie and Snappy Stenson; sister, Valerie Larson and her husband Earl; and a son, Timothy Jolliffe.
