Glenn Francis Mckee, 85, long time resident of the Babb area died December 20 at the Northern Rockies Medical Center. At his request, no services are planned but memorials in his name should be sent to the St. Labre Mission.
Glenn was born in Great Falls, the son of Anna (Kissane, of County Clare, Ireland) and Ernest R. ‘Mac’ McKee. He grew up in the Oilmont area, attending area schools and earning an associate degree from Montana State College. Glenn enlisted in the U.S. Air force and served in the Korean War. He married JoAnn Nussbaum on June 21, 1954. Together they owned and operated Lake View Tourist Resort and the Driftwood Café for 30+ years.
Glenn was, above all, a loving husband and father. He also was an avid sportsman, antique car enthusiast and restorer, and practical joker. Everyone who knew Glenn knew he could fix anything or come up with a workable replacement. Glenn was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by JoAnn, his wife of 59 years, his daughters Sandra Mckee of Billings and Leslie O’Neill (Kevin) of Las Vegas, NV. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren: Jason McKee (Laura) and sons Kyle and Quinn, Jennifer McKee-McDonald (Jonathon)and children Maggie and Cormac, Patrick O’Neill and daughter Joscelynn, Brian O’Neill, Megan O’Neill, Colin O’Neill, Keenan O’Neill.
