Glenna R. Boumans, 77, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2023, at Logan Health Extended
Care from natural causes. Glenna was born to Everette T. (Jazz) Orr and Marjorie E. Orr on June 2, 1946. She was the second child of eight. She graduated from Valier High School in 1964 after attending grade school in East Glacier and Dupuyer. On February 15, 1969, Glenna married Herman Boumans Jr. and began their life together on the farm. They had one son, Ernie.
Glenna had many hobbies and interests throughout her life. These included selling Home
Interiors, Avon, and many other kinds of crafts that she created and sold at Craft Shows. The last 25 years she was consumed with quilting and loved to share them with family and friends. In 2003 her grandson, Will, was born and in 2007 her granddaughter, Kristen, was born. She cherished them and loved attending all their events.
Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, Jazz and Marjorie (Russell) Orr; husband, Herman Boumans; brothers, Ted and Tony; brother-in-law, Walt Boumans, who was more like a brother. She is survived by her son, Ernie and wife Margie; grandchildren, Will and Kristen; sisters, Donna (Ken Sr.) Wheeler of Valier, Ida (Don) VandenBos of Valier, Viola Anderson of Ulm, Bee Bonner of Billings; and brother, Jim Orr of Great Falls. Known as “Hant”, thanks to her nephew Kenny Wheeler, she has many special nieces and nephews, some have preceded her in death.
There will be a Celebration of her life at the Fireman’s Pavilion in Valier on June 29, 2023, at 1:00 pm.
