Helen (Vermulm) Davis 95, died on July 31, 2017. Helen was united with the love of her life Ray and Jesus.
Helen was born October 13, 1921 in Conrad to Albert and Fannie Vermulm. Attended school in Conrad and continued her education after graduation becoming a Registered Nurse. March 4, 1944 Ray and Helen were united in marriage and to this marriage six children were born.
Mom and Dad resided in Conrad on the “farm’ and moved to Birch Creek/Blacktail (Valier) in 1954 until 1974 when they moved to Vaughn. Mom moved to Conrad to the Horizon Lodge in 2004, Bee Hive Assisted Living in Conrad in 2013 and resided at Marias Care Center in Shelby since December 29, 2016.
Mom was always cooking, cleaning and taking care of not only her own children, but also any others that would appear! It was common to have 20 people for meals or to have her bring dinner to the field during harvest.
Mom was a very gracious lady and had a very strong faith in the Lord combined with her sense of humor, chuckle and beautiful smile. Mom touched many lives and nurtured so many.
Preceded in death by her husband, Ray Davis; sons, Roy Davis and Bruce Davis; son-in-law, Butch (Albert) Vandenbos; and sisters, Evelyn Steele and Jean Granoski.
Survived by children, Marian (Larry) Vandenbos Tooley of Valier and grandchildren, Jarrod, Raymond, Stephanie and Randy; Janice (Rick) Kruger of Glendive and grandchild, Sammy Oxendahl; Cindy (Jay) Meiler of Ovando and grandchildren, Dustin, RJ. and Jaycee; Kevin Davis of Great Falls and grandchild, Briann; 11 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren; friend and sister-in-law, Velma Chiotti, who stood up for Mom & Dad at their wedding and attended nurses training together and later were reunited at the Bee Hive in Conrad for a very blessed time together.
Also survived by all of the nieces and nephews (too many to count) and all of the other ‘kids’ that Mom took care of and nurtured.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 5, at 10:00 AM at Valier Methodist Church. Burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 7pm at Pondera Funeral Home.
