Helen Ann Show

July 10, 1933 — October 22, 2024

Two Medicine River

Helen Ann Ritter Show passed away peacefully on October 22nd, 2024. In the last days of her life, she was surrounded by her family from all across the United States.

Helen was born on July 10, 1933 in Deadwood, South Dakota to George and Catherine Ritter. Her father’s job with the railroad brought her and her siblings to East Glacier, where she grew up. In 1951, she married her husband, Jerry Jackson Show, in Cut Bank, and they settled on a ranch on Two Medicine. She was known for her ability to cook multiple meals each day to feed the often dozens of people working at Show Ranch. She was devout in her faith and dedicated to her family. She had a soft-spoken, kind, and gentle personality. She was a survivor of the 1964 flood, a mother, and a rancher’s wife not afraid to point her shot gun into the chicken coop to kill a skunk. She was also a teacher’s aid for many years at KW Bergan Elementary in Browning.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, and four half-siblings. She is survived by her five daughters, Janice Show Lofland, Geri Show Fox, Cindy Show, Elaine Show Smith (Duane), and Cherie Show; 10 grandchildren, Kiernan (Cameron), Glennis (Jack), Michelle, Dale (Chelsea), Jerry (Kellie), Brandi, Jessi (Anthony), Keith, Tiara, and Kade; and 15 great grandchildren, Theo, Kenzi, Avery, Wyatt, Wrenley, Kenna, Bill, Brody, Tate, Ranen, Ember, Kailyr, Koda, Kaje, and Kimberlyn. She is also survived by her sister, Thersa Fauley of Lakeside, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at Little Flower Parish in Browning at 2pm on Friday, November 1, with burial at Show Ranch and dinner immediately following at the East Glacier Women’s Club. Helen will be home for visitation at Show Ranch beginning Wednesday, October 30, at 2pm. Rosary will be at Show Ranch on Thursday at 7pm.
