Herbert John Trovatten passed away Thursday December 28, 2017 at the Marias Care where he resided for the last five years.
Herb was born in Devon, Montana to Walter and Stella Trovatten on September 5, 1930. Herb was educated in Toole county where he graduated from Sunburst High School. After high school Herb went on to college at Bozeman and enlisted in the Navy. In the Navy Herb witnessed the first testing of the hydrogen bombs. After the Navy Herb returned back to Montana and started to work for the Big West Oil Refiner in Kevin. Herb and the family then moved to California in 1962 where Herb worked in electronics and other jobs. The family returned to Montana in 1970 where Herb goes to Africa to work for the A.F.L. in the country of Ghana. After 3 years Herb returns to Montana after retiring Herb and Nancy moved to Shelby. Herb loved fishing, hunting ,and
golfing.
Herb married Nancy Majerus on October 7, 1955 in Cardston, Alberta. Together they had two sons Corey (Sharon) Trovatten of Shelby and Todd (Lori) Trovatten of Great Falls.
Herb is survived by his two sons Corey and Todd. His sister Georgia (Ray) Tomsheck, granddaughter Lindsey (Adam) Lucido, and great granddaughter Cammy from ILL. A very special thank you to Ginny (Jim) Porter, Susan Taylor, Linda Pade, Tammie (Michael) Waite, Cookie Bashor and all his numerous nieces and nephews.
Herb is preceded in death by his wife Nancy, his parents Walter and Stella, and his sisters Ruth Taylor and Marty Jeffiers. Dad touched a lot of peoples heart with his kindness, he will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral mass will be Friday, January 5, at 2:00 PM at St. William Catholic Church.
A reception at the parish will follow the service.
