Jacob A Wurz, 53, a carpenter from the Hillside Hutterite Colony near Sweet Grass passed away suddenly from a heart condition at the Marias Medical Center on September 6, 2011. Funeral services will be held at the Hillside Colony at 11:30 am on Friday, September 9, with burial to follow in the Hillside Colony Cemetery. Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Jacob was born February 5, 1958 at the Hillside Colony to Andrew J and Rebecca (Wurz) Wurz. He was educated at the colony and enjoyed doing his carpentry there. He and Martha Waldner were married on June 9, 1983 and were parents to five children.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; daughter, Debbie (William) Wurz; sons, Lawrence, Jacob, Phillip, and Walter, all of Hillside Colony near Sweet Grass. His parents; sisters, Esther, Rebecca, Rachel, Matilda, and Anna, all of Hillside Colony, Elizabeth and Frieda Waldner, both of MacMillan Colony near Calely, Alberta, and Barbara Entz of Zenith Colony near Cut Bank, also survive him. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew and Ike; infant sister Elizabeth; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law.
