Jacob “Jake” Dilger, 88, passed away January 21, 2017 in Brady of natural causes. He was born November 8, 1928 in Glenullin, ND to Frank and Katherine Dilger.
Jake joined the Air Force in 1947 after serving 21 years as a sheet metal worker repairing airplanes that were damaged in the war. He served in Japan, Korea, and the Philippines.
Jake enjoyed doing anything with his hands, painting, working with metal or wood building things. His greatest enjoyment was fishing, hunting, gardening, playing cards and pool.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 8 brothers, and 6 sisters. Survivors include his wife, Joan Powell Dilger of Brady; brother, George of Missoula; sisters, Monica Froeburg of Great Falls and Caroline Neil of Seattle; daughters, Connie Levelley and Diana Rehn both of Spokane, and Tami of Moses Lake, WA; stepchildren, Harriet Nanini of Havre, Marcella Hargrove of Boise, ID, Stanley Sparks of Brady, Delvine Claridge of Virginia Beach, VA, and Linda Poore of Jacksonville, FL; and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service with military honors will be held May 11 at 2:00 PM at Pondera Funeral Home in Conrad. A luncheon at the Conrad Moose Lodge will follow the service.
